1. What We Collect
All salary and deduction inputs you enter are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers, except for the anonymous AI explanation request described below. If you create an account, we collect limited data as described in the "Account & Subscription Data" section below.
2. AI Explanations
When you request an AI explanation of your paycheck results, the calculated numbers (not your name or any identifying information) are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a plain-English explanation. No personally identifiable information is transmitted. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data: anthropic.com/privacy.
3. Cookies
If you create an account, we use a secure HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in for up to 30 days. We also use a CSRF protection cookie to secure form submissions. These cookies are strictly functional and are not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this application. Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data such as pages visited and time spent. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Third Party Services
This application is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses for security purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
6. Account & Subscription Data
Account Data
We collect your email address when you create an account. This is the only personally identifiable information we store.
Payment Data
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID. We never store credit card numbers, CVVs, or expiration dates — all payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Subscription Data
We store your subscription status, plan type, and billing period dates to manage your access to premium features.
AI Usage Data
We track the number of AI explanation requests per month to enforce credit limits. For anonymous users, this is tracked by IP address. For authenticated users, this is tracked by user ID.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, we remove your profile data, subscription records, and AI credit history within 30 days.
Third-Party Sharing
We share your email address with Stripe solely for payment processing. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
7. Children's Privacy
This application is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
